[0:02:03] on our agenda is a resolution where we're going to actually we're going to need to table that do we need to take that can we just oh we'll just we're still trying to get more information we'll release that next meeting okay yep there you go what nick said okay next one agent is a contract change order and summary pay application for railway state line signal improvement mr dan cordell um as the mayor said this is a change order start with the change order for the signal at airways and state line road the work is completed this is a change in order to adjust the quantities to the final quantity from the field measurements it's a deductive change order in amount of 18 405.46 if i can get you off approval for that second we have a motion baltimore gallagher second volume in flores is there any discussion hearing none roll call yes yes okay and that motion carries and then next on the agenda is a contract this is the final pay application oh we got i'm sorry yeah i'm sorry one more thing this is the final pay application that reflects the change order that was just approved uh the amount is 102 three dollars and thirty seven cents that's where the work remains so if i can get approval for that to be processed also i make that motion okay okay we have a motion model in florence second ballroom and gallagher zarin discussion hearing none roll call yes okay in that motion carries thank you dan all right next on our agenda is our contract with a new election commissioner

[0:04:07] this is the contract uh he knows elections are coming up in primaries in may i think the general election will be in june this contract will be for election consultant mr danny klein professional service agreement to assist with the primary and general election as it relates to the machines and the ballots for the elections for the authorization for the mayor to sign and andrew are not going to answer any questions you may have let's go move second we have a motion of honor and ferguson the second kelly is there any discussion is the total value of contract all that the sum of all yeah it's uh i think a little over a little over five thousand dollars right at six thousand is there any other discussion all right next on our agenda is our planning agenda mrs whitney cook yes we don't have anything for a formal vote but i did want to remind everybody that we're past december 31st and our uh condemned house at 1619 state line road is now at their deadline for cosmetic improvements if you could just take a drive by look at it determine what you think we've looked at it for some partial improvements like we've had last time it's by no means where it should have been at this point um but what we plan to do after everybody's looked at it is i'm gonna get with nick figure out what our legal procedure needs to be to bring it back up in front of the board for a vote to either take it down or let them proceed forward with interior improvements so just a quick update has weather been an issue with any that you

[0:06:09] know i mean i think they've had plenty of time um prior situations with another house that these people have we've run into the same issues they do a lot of work right off the bat that's what happened this time there's a lot of activity first couple weeks and they just kind of died off haven't responded to us haven't seen them so they were given december 31st and we're now january 3rd so have we been in contact with them at all no not since that meeting we gave them when they came they did attend that last meeting where we gave them that deadline um and we have not spoken to them since we kind of have that time period to do their improvements we'll get in touch with them now uh like i told mayor like i told nick later on today my plan was to make everybody aware that the deadline has passed now so we need to do something i'll get back in touch with them at this point do you have any pictures of the house um we're not actually allowed at this point to step on the premises she has chased us off a couple times putting us trespassing signs up we can get them from the street i'll get those tomorrow and email those to the mayor and he can disperse them to everybody but it's only going to be a front view of the house because um we don't want to end the premises at this point so so at this point you don't think they've met the obligation no i mean what we what we told them they needed to do was fix the windows all that were broken fix the doors fix the rotten wood paint the entire house uh from street view you can already tell it hadn't been done there has been there has been progress but not to not to the not significant to the limit that we said each year is it condemned it's been condemned for years um well and that's i don't know that we condemned it further than where it's normally at we didn't go into we did have the hearing for condemning it for demo but what we did was give them this time period before we did an official condemnation proterium so i don't think it's been to that point yet we need to look at those minutes no this is me just asking if everybody could go by there take a look at it um so when we do have it come back up for an official vote on what to do next everybody has put their eyes on it and

[0:08:11] like i said i'll get as many pictures as i can but if you happen to be driving down the state line road just take a look for me thanks okay thank you all right next on our agenda uh our mayor's report um first of all a couple things i want to update you on but first of all we need to get approval for um board members to travel to mml next week so will someone make that motion please i'll make that motion we have a motion by alderman flores second by alderman ferguson all in favor say hi any opposed say no eyes have it motion carries okay and then uh the other thing is our congressional briefing trip the trip that desoto county takes each year all the elected officials in the county and the municipalities in desoto county go to visit our legislation in washington once a year and that trip is coming up on april 5th through the 7th so just wanted to update the board on weekend they've made an allotment for three board members and myself to go i think last year we talked about that we would just take turns but however y'all want to do that if there's some board members on this board that have not been i think donovan flores and alderman kelly have not gone as accurate is that correct but you don't have to decide tonight i'm just going to let you know we do need to give them an answer pretty quickly um and then they do they book the rooms but the airfare you you do have to secure your own airfare so but they will be doing the uh the booking for the rooms is that correct christy okay so we can take three so if y'all will be thinking about that and then just let uh let christie know she will relay that information uh to deborah with the county okay so would someone give me a motion

[0:10:25] okay okay i have a motion by alderman gallagher in a second alderman brooks to authorize travel to washington d.c on april 5th through the 7th to the congressional briefing trip is there any other discussion hearing none all in favor say aye aye all opposed say no guys have motion carries okay and then just quickly uh i do want to update everyone on the get well widening project we know that that's a um a lengthy project that's been under construction for a couple years um obviously there have been some delays we have been in contact with the contractors in the uh engineering firm that's overseeing the project and we've been encouraged that things are going to move at a faster pace in early 2017 so as soon as we get a little bit of break with the weather we hope to see them out there working quickly i wanted everyone here to know that i have been in contact with them to express the sense of urgency in getting this project done because it's obviously key arterial street for our city and when it is complete it'll make a big difference with the traffic and the good and get well area and also you know leading into memphis since it will be widened to five lanes all the way from goodman north to the tennessee state line but we again we've expressed you know a sense of urgency to get that project done so i'm i'm hoping that that one will move faster in 2017. last meeting we had we were told that by late spring that the project will be entirely finished so we're we're in striking distance even though it's been uh frustrating and painful for us it's still going to finish about six months prior to the contract deadline so it's just it's a lengthy project but anyway that's a little bit of good news i'm hoping that um that we'll see it a lot faster action there in the early part of the year one other quick thing i know we've talked about the city entrance signs many people have given us a lot of positive feedback about that they like it

[0:12:27] we also have the metro signs which are the street signs that will be added to the master arms throughout the city we have ordered those and purchased those they are larger than us standard street sign so we're being really cautious making sure that you know that we go through an engineering analysis to make sure that they're uh the proper size to be installed on the masters that's what the delay is for that's why we've not done that yet we hope to you know have an answer back this week on that and go ahead and start the process of installing those so they look really really good they're just they're big they're a lot bigger they definitely get your attention um and that's all i have this evening of mayor's report the next our next item on the agenda is our citizens agenda we had one person that signed up to speak tonight mrs green wanted to speak about a claim against the city as mrs green in the audience mr laundry agree in the audience okay appears that she is not with us tonight so we will move uh forward to the next item which is our personnel document uh mr mayor i'm with the approved personnel documents presented on this date second we have a motion balance brooks second baltimore in pain is there any discussion hearing none roll call yes okay and that motion carries all right next on our agenda is our city attorney's legal update okay mr nick manley apologize this just came up a couple minutes earlier this afternoon i just need to do a correction to our resolution from september 6 2016 the scrivener's area the scrivener's era we had 491 dollars
